| Elijah Levi
(Vocalist)
"The man with the golden throat" has been the
lead tenor for the legendary Chicago based Ink Spots for more than a dozen
years, touring the United States and Canada. Levi was part of the Ink Spots in
the 1980s that recorded several albums together. It was in 1934 that four
porters working at the Paramount Theater in New York decided to form a vocal
group with Ivory "Deke" Watson as the leader. For over 50 years, the faces have
changed but the sound is still true Ink Spots. Their current CD and video is
titled "Classic Ink Spots." Levi's unique voice and style has found a new home
with Yoko Noge's Jazz Me Blues Band.
Elijah Levi is featured with the band on their release, "Thrill
Me." and toured Japan with the group in November, 1997.
